Our dear sister Avis Sowl has gone home to be with the Lord. She received the hug from her Lord she had always wanted around 2:30 a.m., July 1, 2016. Avis was at home with Gerri at the time of her passing. Avis was 93 years of age and lived an amazing life of joyful, faithful service to her Lord. Her life was well spent and there is no doubt she was received with tremendous celebration. Avis will be greatly missed, but her legacy is one that will carry on for generations. Gerri is doing well and at peace with Avis’ passing, but she would appreciate your prayers. She would also enjoy your visits, calls, and cards. If you would like to visit Gerri, please call ahead to make sure she is available.

This was one of Avis’ favorite passages and she lived it well.
On July 9, there will be an 11 am memorial service at LifeSpring Church, 5026 North Rd., Canandaigua, NY 14424, to honor Avis Sowl’s life. A reception will follow the service.
To honor Avis’s life of service and her spiritual legacy, we plan to collect photos, memories and testimonies into a memory album that we can share online at a later date and preserve in print for Gerri and the ministry archives.
