The verses above are a favorite passage of our ministry team. We consider it and pray it often in our staff meetings. We trust God is always at work in our midst for His glory and the joy of His people! He is the author of every blessing and He is present with us in every trial. We pray for His work to be seen and His power to establish all He has called us to do.
In June, our ministry waited with eagerness for each new government phase to re-open in NY and for new guidance to be given, so we could plan to max out our potential for ministry this summer. We have now entered Phase 4 of the state’s COVID re-opening plan, which gave us greater freedom to host adult and family groups. However, due to the governor’s executive orders, we we will be unable to host any overnight children/ youth groups through September, and perhaps the remainder of the year. Nevertheless, we praise God for the ability to serve in other capacities. We have focused much of our attention on Day Camps, Family Retreats, and our THE WAY Summer Service & Disciple Training Program.
We welcome children to our first day camp on July 6th. There will be a total of seven weeks of day camps, each with a separate theme; you can check these out on the website. Children will enjoy treasure hunts, archery, water sports, baking, and much more! We are excited to welcome these children and to share with them the love of Christ through our staff and the life-saving message of Jesus Christ.
The majority of our groups chose to cancel this summer, so our ministry team shifted our seasonal offerings to meet the needs of Christian families in the region. We have opened up housing facilities, including Lakeside and Hilltop cottages, the lodge, and bungalows for family retreats. Our hope is for every family to come rest, relax, enjoy family, make memories, and be refreshed by God’s Spirit. We desire for families from all over to come and enjoy a spiritual retreat with us this summer. Feel free to call the office for more information.
THE WAY youth and young adult summer service team will be joining us July 6th for a summer of discovering Biblical truths, being challenged to commit their lives to Kingdom purposes, and serving the church through Christian ministry. We are welcoming a wonderful group of teens into THE WAY summer program. As always, please be praying in earnest for these students and their spiritual lives this summer. We are praying their time with us will impact the rest of their lives for the Kingdom of God.
