Genesis 15 the Abrahamic Covenant was the foundation to the Jewish nation. His promise to Abram was a promise far beyond just one generation. It was a promise that Abram only was allowed a glimpse of while he was alive. Abraham was guided, by God, in his path and doors opened allowing him to be instrumental in the salvation of the world by being a descendant of Jesus Christ. God’s plans are massive and yet He takes time to connect with each of us and shows how important we are in His overall plan.

For most of us this is a simple truth to accept, but sometimes a hard truth to trust. God’s plans are longer and larger than any one of us can comprehend. This is a little snip-it of what God has done in my life. In 1984 LeTourneau was turning 50 years old as a ministry and I was born into the world. In the early 90’s I attended a day camp held at LeTourneau by Canandaigua Baptist Church (Lifespring Community Church). When I was 13 my parents let me help for a week of camp at the end of the 1997 summer season, they forced me (I did not want to be at camp) to work the following year as a dish fish in the kitchen, the following 2 years God created this love for LeTourneau that started to boil in my veins (a passion that could not be squelched), and by the time I graduated high school I was ready to devote my life to camp ministry. During my first full summer at camp Michelle started working and our friendship was started, after I spent a year at college we started dating. In 2004, a year after we started dating, we came back to LeTourneau to work as the staff leaders; to see how we worked together in ministry (it was an amazing summer of growth). God blessed me with a woman who had a similar passion with totally different gifts to strengthen whatever ministry we were going to get involved in.

In December 2005, we were married in the Dining hall at LeTourneau and I started fulltime at Family Life Ministries in the beginning of 2006 after a summer of interning. The director position opened up at LeTourneau in the fall of 2008 at which point Michelle and I stepped into the role as director and wife. God’s orchestration of events was phenomenal. His subtle pushes and quiet voice guided us to each other and into a solid ministry.
